Military History
Embarked Melbourne HMAT ‘Nestor’ A 71 for Egypt 21.11.1917.

Roll Unit 2nd Division, 2nd Pioneers, 12th Reinf.
Treloar disembarked at Suez with his unit 15.12.1917 and marched into the Australian Training Camp. After a brief period of exhaustive training, he entrained to Alexandria 5.1.1918. Treloar embarked at Alexandria with BEF for UK 13.1.1918. He disembarked at Southampton UK 24.1.1918. Treloar marched in to the 6th Training Bn. Camp 24.1.1918. He was appointed Acting Lance Corporal 23.3.1918 and was sent to an NCO’s Course 25.3.1918. Treloar reverted to ranks at Sutton Veny 24.6.1918 and proceeded overseas to France 24.6.1918. He transferred from 12th Reinf. to 2nd Pioneer Bn. 3.7.1918. The 2nd Division fought at Hamel in July and sustained 246 casualties in this battle (Wikipedia 2nd Div.). Treloar was promoted to Acting Lance Corporal. He was wounded in action with severe GSW to his chest 5.10.1918 (WAN 26.10.1918) at Montbrehain. This battle was the last action involving Australian Infantry Troops on the Western Front. Treloar was admitted to the 12th General Hospital at Rouen, then evacuated by HS to the UK 11.10.1918. He was admitted to the Bath War Hospital 12.10.1918. Treloar was discharged from hospital 17.12.1918 to the No. 4 Command Depot and took furlough. He embarked in England for return to Australia on a Hospital Transport ship (HT).
