Roll Unit 10th Field Artillery Brigade (FAB).
Stone disembarked with the 6th Battery FAB at Plymouth 17.2.1917. They marched into the Artillery Training School . The unit proceeded to France 14.6.1917. They were taken on strength with the 6th Battery AFA 26.6.1917. Stone was admitted to hospital 8.12.1917 with cerebro spinal meningitis. He embarked from France for England per the Hospital Ship ’Jan Breydel’ 28.12.1917. He was transferred to convalesce at Central Military Hospital, Chatham UK and from there to the 3rd Auxiliary Hospital 22.1.1918. He was listed as returning to Australia for ‘a change’ following illness.
Embarked England for Australia per ‘Kenilworth Castle’ 23.4.1918 ‘for a change’ (invalided).
