HMAT 'Borda' 17.1.1916.

Roll Unit 28th Infantry Battalion, 8th Reinf.
The 51st Bn. disembarked in Egypt and marched in to No.7 Training Bn. at Zeitoun. Pearmine was allotted to the 51st Bn. 3.3.1916. He was admitted sick to with hospital botulism diphtheria 9.5.1916. Pearmine embarked from Alexandria with BEF for France per ‘Megantic’ 6.8.1916. He was admitted to hospital with knee injury 31.8.1916 then taken back on strength with 15th Training Bn. 14.9.1916. The 51st Bn fought at Mouquet Farm in August and September 1916. Pearmine was wounded in action 3.4.1917 with Shell concussion. He was wounded (2nd time) during the Bn. attack on Noreuil. Pearmine was transported to England for Permanent Base duties 29.5.1917. He marched in to No.2 Command, Weymouth. Pearmine was illegally absent from Perham Downs 11.8.1917 and Court Martial- 105 days detention. His sentence was remitted. He marched out of Sandhill Camp, Deverill 18.12.1917 and he proceeded overseas to France via Southampton 13.4.1918.
Pearmine was sick in France with a septic foot and admitted to Hospital 11.4.1917. He was transferred to England, admitted to Bulford Hospital with debility 11.10.1917. Pearmine rejoined his Unit. He was again sick in field and transferred to 1st Aust. General Hospital France 12.4.1918 with a nervous debility 15.6.1918. He was listed for transfer to England with nervous debility 1.7.1918. Pearmine was admitted to Northampton War Hospital 2.7.1918 and transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital Dartford 19.7.1918. He was listed for early return to Australia as an invalid.
Embarked for Australia per ‘Argyllshire’ 9.12.1918.
Returned/Disembarked 19.1.1919.
Discharged 15.5.1919.

Medical Condition Invalided with Traumatic Neurasthenia with stammering.
