Military History
Pearce enlisted with 14th Reinf. 11th Bn. in 16.12.1916. He transferred to Aust Ammunition Supply Column Reinf. 16.2.1916. He was transferred to 1st Royal Engineers 1 Aust. Flying Corps.
Embarked Melbourne per T.C. ‘Ulysses’ A38 for England 25.10.1916.
Roll Rank Air Mechanic 2nd Class.
Roll Unit 2nd Squadron, Australian Flying Corps, 1st Reinf.
Pearce disembarked at Plymouth, England 28.12.1916. He marched in to Carlton to 69th Sqn. Aust. Royal Engineers Corps 2.1.1917. He was transferred to Austins, Birmingham for Course of Instruction 7.7.1917. Pearce was appointed 1st A/M, South Carlton 1.8.1917. He proceeded overseas to France 24.8.1917. Pearce was given a new designation to 69th Sqn. Australian Flying Corps (AFC) 8.1.1918. He was appointed Cpl. 3rd Sqn. 1.3.1918. He was promoted to T/Sgt. 1.4.1918, Sgt. 1.5.1918, then Sgt. Mechanic 17.5.1918. Pearce marched out to Parkhouse, England as Training Instructor 3.3.1919. He rejoined his unit at Hurdcott 7.4.1919 and was demobilized and listed for return to Australia.
Embarked for Australia per ‘Kaiser de Hine 16.5.1919.
Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 9.6.1919.
Discharged 17.7.1919.
Final Rank Sgt., Air Mech 3rd Sqn. AFC.
Medical Condition NK.
