Embarked Fremantle per ‘Miltiades’ A28 for England 29.1.1917.

Roll Unit 44th Infantry Battalion, 7th Reinf.
Pearce disembarked at Devonport with his Bn. 23.7.1917. The 44th Bn. 7th Reinf. marched in to AIF Details Fovant 28.3.1917. They marched in to the 11th Training Bn at. Fovant 18.4.1917. Pearce and his Training Bn. proceeded overseas to France via Folkestone 6.8.1917. He was appointed Cpl. 3rd Australian Detail Base Depot at Rouelles 15.8.1917. Pearce reverted to Pte. 27.9.1917. He was transferred to 3rd Div. 44th Bn. 1.10.1917. Pearce was promoted to Cpl. 11.10.1917. The 44th Bn. spent a harsh winter on the front line in the trenches on and around the Somme. Pearce transferred to Div. HQ AIF from 44th Bn. He was sick - with differential vision and was transferred by the 11th Field Ambulance 11.1.1917. Pearce was admitted to Hospital 10.1.1918. He was discharged from hospital to duty 12.1.1918. He took leave 9.10.1918. Pearce marched in to 3rd Div. HQ for return to Australia (Quota 29) 2.4.1919.
Embarked for Australia per ‘Somali’ to England 1.6.1919.
Returned/Disembarked 8.7.1919.
Discharged 16.8.1919.
Final Rank Corporal, 3rd Division Head Quarters.
