Military History
Enlisted with 44th Bn 6th Reinf. Transferred to Field Artillery 10.11.1916. He proceeded to Maribyrnong Victoria for further Artillery training 18.1.1917 – 14.5.1917.
Embarked Melbourne per HMAT ‘Port Sydney’ 19.11.1917.

Roll Unit Field Artillery Brigade, 27th Reinf.
O’Grady disembarked at Suez 12.12.1918. He entrained to Alexandria, joined the BEF and embarked for Taranto, Italy 18.12.1918. At Taranto, O’Grady embarked for England. He disembarked at Southampton 4.1.1919 and marched in to the Artillery Training School at Heytesbury. After a period of intensive training, he proceeded overseas to France via Southampton per HT ‘Heytesbury’ 22.4.1918. O’Grady was taken on strength with 6th Army Bde. Australian Field Artillery (AFA)1.5.1919. On demobilisation, he was granted leave with pay to attend Buckingham Gate Motor Garage 18.7.1919 – 18.10.1919.
Embarked for return to Australia per HT ‘Ypiringa’ 15.11.1919.
Returned/Disembarked 26.12.1919.
Discharged 23.1.1920.
Final Rank Gunner, 6th Army Field Artillery Bde.
Medical Condition NK.
