Embarked Fremantle per ‘Surada’ A 52 for Egypt 17.2.1915.
Roll Rank Trooper.
Roll Unit 3rd Light Horse Brigade, 10th Light Horse Regiment.
Ogden disembarked in Egypt with the 10th Light Horse Regt. He was unwell and was hospitalised with Influenza 21.2.1915 and Tonsillitis 4.3.1915. After a period of intensive training, he entrained to Alexandria joined MEF for Gallipoli. Ogden fought at Gallipoli with his Regt. He became unwell with Diarrhoea, Rheumatism, Influenza, Rt. Inguinal Hernia 5.7.1915. He was transferred by HS ‘Clan McGillivray’ 6.7.1915, to Malta 13.7.1915. From Malta he was transferred back to Egypt and admitted to the Intafa Hospital 14.7.1915. Ogden was transferred by HS ‘Demosthenes’ to England to the Military Hospital at Bethnell Green, Lewisham 11.9.1915.
Ogden obtained a Commission in the Imperial Army and was discharged from the AIF 11.1.1916. He was appointed 2nd Lieut. 21st (Service) Bn. Duke of Cambridge’s Own, Middlesex Regiment. Ogden was listed for repatriation 27.3.1919. Initially he was based at Aldershot then he marched into Codford ex France 3.4.1919. Ogden remained in England at the address 1922, 35 Parkhill Road, Forest Hill, London SE
