Military History
Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘Ulysses’ 1.4,1916.

Moore disembarked in England. He marched in to Training Camp. After a period if intensive training he proceeded overseas to France 9.9.1916. He was taken on strength with the 28th Bn. in the Field 25.9.1916. It is not known if Moore took part in the final capture of Mouquet Farm on 26.9.2016. The 28th battalion was removed from the front line after this battle to the quieter sections of Ypres. Moore was admitted to hospital sick 14.10.1916 and 10.12.1916 and rejoined his Unit ten days later 22.12.1916. He was admitted to the 1st Australian Divisional Hospital at Bulford, England 15.8.1917. Moore was discharged, but readmitted 19.11.1917 and 3.1.1918. He proceeded overseas to France 1.2.1918 and rejoined his unit 25.2.1918. the 28th Bn. moved into the trenches on 20.5.2018 at Ville-Sur-Ancre. In this battle 3 men died or were KIA, 13 wounded and 3 removed as sick. (AWM4 28th Bn. Diary). Moore was wounded in this action 21.5.1918. He returned to his Unit 29.5.1918 (Reported West Australian 25.6.1918). He sprained his knee 3.9.1918 and was later invalided to England with rheumatism 9.11.1918. Moore was later diagnosed with rheumatism and Effort Syndrome at Bristol Hospital 12.11.1918. He was reported ill (West Australian Newspaper 23.1.1919). Moore was listed for early return to Australia as an invalid.
