Maddaford disembarked with his unit at Suez 4.4.1918. He was taken on strength at Camp Suez 5.4.1918. Maddaford was evacuated to the ‘Segregation Camp with a Measles contact’ at Suez 10.4.1918. He was discharged to duty 17.4.1918 and transferred to Port Tewfik for enlistment with BEF for an overseas posting 30.4.1918. Maddaford embarked at Port Tewfik per TS ‘Ellenger’ for England 30.4.1918. Maddaford disembarked at Southampton 15.5.1917 and marched in to Fovant to 5th Training Bn. 15.5.1917. He reported sick to Hurdcott Hospital 25.8.1918 - 13.6.1918. Maddaford was transferred to Hurdcott Hospital 3.11.1918 - 21.11.1918. He marched out to No.4 Command Depot 4.12.1918 and was detached to the Australian Army Pay Corps 20.1.1919. He was admitted to Hospital at Hurdcott 3.3.1919 and later promoted to Extra Regimental (ER) 2nd Cpl. 1.5.1919 and marched in to No. 2 Group Camp at Sutton Veny 13.6.1919. He was granted leave subject to recall 12.1.1920 and listed for return to Australia.
Embarked for return to Australia per ‘Freidrichsruhe’ 22.2.1920.
Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 28.2.1920.
Discharged 26.4.1920.
