Military History
Hoare enlisted to work in munitions in England c1917. It is understood that he worked in the Aircraft Production Department, under the Ministry of Munition in Redcar, Yorkshire. The Royal Naval Air Service and Royal Air Force used a nearby race course as a base in WW1. Munitions works were particularly dangerous when working with explosives, and hundreds of lives were lost in explosives accidents. The Munitions workers are largely unrecognised for their part in the War.
Disembarked/Returned per SS Kursk 14.5.1919 (Western Argus Kalgoorlie 14.5.1919.)
Awards No medals were distributed to the War Workers or Munition Workers (Daily News. 6.9.1919 p5)
