Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘Itonus’ 22.2.1915 for Egypt.

Roll Unit 4th Division, 16th Bn., 2nd Reinf.
Graham disembarked in Egypt at Suez. He joined the MEF and embarked at Alexandria for Gallipoli. Graham was wounded in the third action at ANZAC 19.5.1915. (Wiki: Third Attack on ANZAC Cove). Although not recorded, he would probably have been treated at Mudros. He was hospitalised with Diarrhoea and transferred by HS ‘Neuralia’ to Heliopolis Hospital 31.7.1915. At Helouan he was diagnosed with Dysentery and admitted to Helouan Hospital 20.8.1915. Graham rejoined his unit and embarked with the MEF at Alexandria. He embarked per HT ‘Ionian’ 9.9.1915 for Gallipoli. After 2 months of intensive fighting he became ill with gastritis 17.11.1915. He was taken to the Casualty Clearing Station and diagnosed with Gastritis/ Enteritis 23.11.1915. Graham was transferred to Mudros but his condition became worse so he was transferred by HS ‘Gloucester Castle’ to St George’s Hospital in Malta 29.11.1915 with severe jaundice 28.11.1915. Graham convalesced at All Saints Convalescent Camp 5.1.1916. (reported West Australian Newspaper 8.2.1916). He was discharged as fit for active service 21.1.1916 and returned to Malta. He was transported back to Egypt. Graham rejoined his unit at Tel-el-Kebir 5.3.1916. (West Australian Newspaper returned to duty 23.3.1916).
Graham joined the BEF in Alexandria and embarked per HT ‘Canada’ for France 1.6.1916. He disembarked at Marseilles with his Bn. 9.6.1916. The 16th Bn. fought their first major battle at Pozieres between July and September 1916. Graham was KIA in the Field in France 11.8.1916. (Reported West Australian Newspaper 3.9.1916). His body was not recovered, however, he is commemorated at Villers-Bretonneux Memorial MR 26, Part 3 G-J, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France.

Note Graham's wife  Elizabeth (L.Graham) moved to the Guildford Grammar School whilst her husband  was overseas, possibly as a housemaid. After his death she moved to East Narrogin
