Embarked Fremantle per ‘Seang Bee’ A 48 for UK 18.7.1916.

Roll Unit 18th Reinf. 16th Infantry Bn. 4th Infantry Brigade.
Goss disembarked at Plymouth with the 16th Infantry Bn. and marched into 4th Training Bn. at Rollestone 10.9.1916. He proceeded overseas to France 14.10.1916 and marched in to the Infantry Base Details. He was taken on strength with the 16th Bn. in the field 18.10.1916. He became ill and was transferred to the 5th Casualty Receiving Station 7.12.1916, then the 39th Casualty Clearing Station. He was admitted to hospital at Rouen and diagnosed with Rheumatism 14.12.1916, then was diagnosed with myalgia 26.12.1916. He rejoined his unit from Hospital 18.1.1917. Goss was wounded in the Battle of Bullecourt- Reincourt carried out by the 4th Division (AWM Tucker). He received a GSW to his Rt. Arm 11.4.1917. Goss was taken to the 56th Casualty Clearing Station, then Hospital at Entretat 13.4.-13.4.1917. He was invalided to hospital in England 23.4.1917 and admitted to the Eastleigh Military Hospital 24.4.1917. Goss rejoined his unit in France 25.8.1917. He was wounded in the Field, a second time at Polygon Woods 26.9.1917. He was admitted to the 56th Casualty Clearing Station and transferred to the 1st Canadian General Hospital 1.10.1917 where he was diagnosed Shell Shock 25.1.1918. He rejoined his unit 12.2.1918. Goss was wounded a third time with a SW to his left arm 10.4.1918, whilst fighting with his Bn. in the Hebuterne Sector. He was transferred by the 49th Field Ambulance to the 56th Casualty Clearing Station, then the 54th General Hospital 6.4.1918. Goss was invalided per HS ‘Princess Elizabeth’ to England and admitted to Whitstable Hospital,10.4.1918. Three months later, he was transferred to the 3rd Auxiliary Hospital at Dartford to convalesce 10.7.1918. He marched out to Hurdcott 9.8.1918 for early return to Australia as an invalid.

Disembarked Fremantle 17.11.1918.
Discharged 15.3.1919.

Medical Condition Invalided with GSW and shell shock.
