Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘Persic’ A34 for England 29.12.1916.

Roll Unit 18th Reinforcement 28th Battalion, Australian Imperial Force.
Cameron disembarked in England with the 18th Reinforcement, 28th Battalion. He marched in to Rollestone with 7th Training Battalion 3.3.1917. Cameron proceeded overseas to France 14.6.1917.
He joined the 28th Battalion 16.8.1917 and fought in the Battle of Menin Road. Cameron was wounded in action in the field with a gunshot wound to the scalp 4.10.1917 at the Battle of Broodseinde. He rejoined his Battalion 16.3.1918. Cameron was wounded in action (2nd time), with a gunshot wound to thigh near to Morlancourt 10.6.1918. This was reported in local papers (West Australian Newspaper 9.7.1918). He rejoined his Battalion 12.6.1918 and was appointed Lance Corporal 16.10.1918. He was appointed Driver with 2nd Army Medical Transport Corps 8.2.1919. Following demobilization, he embarked for England for return to Australia.

Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 29.8.1919.
Discharged 6.10.1919.
