Military History
Fry enlisted with the Artillery Reinforcements as a Gunner. He proceeded to Maribyrnong, Vic. for Training.
Embarked Melbourne per HMAT ‘Ascanius’ A11 for England 11.5.1917.

Fry disembarked at Devonport with the 11th Field Artillery Brigade. 20.7.1917. He marched in to training camp at Larkhill 21.917. Fry proceeded overseas to France, Rouen 17.10.1917. He transferred to the 11th FAB 23.10.1917. He was admitted to 12th General Hospital with Influenza 30.12.1917. Fry was transferred by HS ‘St Andrew’ to England with Trench Fever 7.1.1918. He was discharged to No. 3 Depot at Hurdcott 11.3.1918. Fry was again hospitalised with precordial chest pain 27.3.1918. It was recommended that he be listed for early return to Australia 5.4.1918.
Embarked for Australia per ‘Matatua’ 17.5.1918.
Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 8.8.1918.
Discharged 4.9.1918.
