Military History
Embarked Fremantle per RMS ‘Karmala’ with 10th Light Horse 12.2.1917.

Roll Unit 80 depot 25/10th Light Horse Regiment.
Bright disembarked with the 10th Light Horse 25th Reinforcement at Suez 11.3.17. They marched into the Details Camp at Moascar 12.3.1917and were taken on strength 26.3.1917. Bright was transferred to 10th Light Horse Regiment as Trooper. He was taken on strength was part of the Desert Column 24.4.17 and advanced into Palestine. Bright is likley to have fought a in the attacks to break the Gaza-Beersheba Line in October 1917 and the Es Salt Raid in May 1918. Bright developed malaria in 17.6.1918 and was hospitalized for 6 weeks in Palestine. He received a full course of treatment and returned to duty. Bright experienced a further malarial attack 4.11.1918 and was hospitalized for 3 months. Bright was later admitted to hospital with an abscess on his thigh 2.1.1919. He returned to Australia when demobilized.
