Embarked at Fremantle per ‘Anchises’ A68 for Egypt on 2.9.1915.

Bricknell disembarked in Egypt with the 9th Reinforcement of the 10th Light Horse Regiment. He was transferred from 10th Light Horse to 8th Light Horse Regiment at Heliopolis 26.2.1916. Bricknell was placed under the 3rd General Hospital at Abbassia 7.9.1916. He sustained a knee injury and was transferred to Postal Duty with the 14th Australian General Hospital at Abbassia 30.9.1916. He was transferred to Australian Imperial Force Headquarters in Cairo 5.3.1917.
Embarked at Suez per Hospital Ship ‘Tofua’ for Australia on nursing duties with Australian Medical Corps 28.12.1917.
Returned/Disembarked Albany 24.1.1918.
