Embarked Fremantle per ‘Port Lincoln’ A17 for Egypt 30.6.1917.

Roll Unit No. 3 Camel Corps.
Webb disembarked at Suez with his Regiment and joined the Imperial Camel Brigade 6.8.1917. He was posted to the No 4 Section Camel Corps 4.10.1917. The Imperial Camel Corps fought to destroy the Turkish defensive line between Gaza and Beersheba in November 1917. Webb became ill in the field with a varicocele 22.1.1918. He was taken to the 44th Stationary Hospital at El Arish then transferred to 14th General Hospital at Port Said 25.1.1918. He was transferred to a Rest Camp to convalesce 12.3.1918. Webb marched out to Abbassia 26.3.1918 and was posted to 4th Battalion Camel Corps 30.4.1918. The AIF disbanded most of its Camel Corps from June 1918 , as horses were felt to be faster and more efficient with fodder and water. Men from the Camel Corps were placed in the 14th and 15th Light Horse Regiments (AWM Imperial Camel Corps). Webb was transferred to 15th Light Horse Regtiment 13.11.1918 - 15.12.1918. He was hospitalised with a disability 23.11.1918 and then admitted to the 2nd Australian General Hospital at Moascar with malaria 18.1.1919. Webb was demobilised and listed for return home to Australia as an invalid with malaria.
