Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘Karoola’ A63 for Egypt 14.3.1916.

Roll Unit 13th Ambulance, Australian Medical Corps, Special Reinf.
Wadley disembarked in Egypt. He was taken on strength with the 13th Field Ambulance Reinf. at Serapeum 20.4.1916. After a period of training, he entrained to Alexandria, joined the BEF and embarked for France per HT ‘Oriana’ 16.6.1916. He disembarked at Marseilles 13.6.1916. Wadley was detached for duty with the Royal Engineers (RE) at Park Quintin 14.10.1916. He rejoined the 13th Field Ambulance 25.10.1916. Wadley was detached from the 13th Field Ambulance and sent for duty with Australian Medical Corps (AMC) Details with the 51st Bn. 15.12.1916. He supported the 51st Bn. throughout 1917 in their battles at Noreuil and the advance to the Hindenburg Line. He transferred to the 4th Sanitary Section in France 25.10.1918. Wadley was promoted to L./Cpl. 24.3.1919. Wadley was transferred to the 24th Sanitary Section in Belgium 24.3.1919. He marched out of France for return to England 22.4.1919. Wadley was granted leave with a subsidy pay of 12/- per week to study farming at Blaisworth Farm, Mill End, Colchester, England on demobilisation. (9.6.1919 – 9.9.1919)
