Private Army Medical Corps. Transferred to 44th Bn 25.5.1916
Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘Suevic’ A29 for UK 6.6.1916.

Roll Unit. 44th Battalion, 11th Infantry Brigade, AIF.
Taylor disembarked at Plymouth 21.7.1916. He marched in to 11th Training Bn. Class ‘A’. at the Command Depot, Perham Downs. After a period of intensive training, he proceeded overseas to France via Southampton 25.11.1916. The 11th Bn. was taken to the ‘Nursery Section’ at Armentieres to acclimatise to battle conditions on the Somme. Taylor fell sick and was admitted to Hospital at Armentieres, with Mumps 2.12.1916. He was transferred to No. 7 General Hospital 6.12.1916 and then invalided per HS ‘Formirosa’ to England with Rheumatic Fever 17.1.1917. Taylor was admitted to the 3rd London General Hospital at Wandsworth 17.1.1917. He was transferred to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield 10.2.1917. He was discharged to the Depot for duty 17.4.1917. Taylor marched in to Perham Downs 18.5.1917 and was listed for early return to Australia for home service as an invalid.
