Embarked Melbourne per HMAT Ascanius A11 for England 27.5 1916.

Styles disembarked at Devonport with the 14th FAB 18.7.1916. He marched into the FAB Training Bulford, UK as a Gunner. He proceeded overseas to France 8.10.1916. His unit was relocated to the 53rd Bty 28.11.1916. Styles was admitted to hospital with a debility 10.10.1917. He rejoined his unit in France 14.2.1918 and was made Temporary Bombardier with 14th Field Artillery Bde. (FAB). He marched out for embarkation to England 9.4.1919 and return to Australia.
Embarked for Australia per Somali from England 1.6.1919.
Returned/Disembarked Australia 8.7.1919.
Discharged 22.8.1919
