Military History
Embarked Fremantle per RMS ‘Mongolia’ for Egypt 22.11.1915.
Roll Rank Trooper / Private
Roll Unit 12th Reinf, 10th Light Horse Regiment.
Rupe disembarked with the 10th Light Horse in Egypt. He became ill and was admitted to Hospital in Heliopolis Egypt with cerebral irritation 25.1.1916. Rupe was transferred to No 3 Auxiliary Hospital 3.2.1916. He was discharged to duty in Serapeum 9.2.1915. Rupe was hospitalized with a debility in April- May 1916, returned to duty and was taken on strength at Tel-el-Kebir 16.5.1916. Rupe was bitten by a camel on the neck 2.1916 and hospitalised. He was rejoined the 10th Light Horse 2.9.1916. Rupe suffered in the heat and difficult conditions in Egypt. He was hospitalised with tonsillitis 1.2.1917, heat stroke 5.6.1918. and a debility (69 days). He was transferred to Suez for return to Australia.

Notes Rupe had a brother George Arthur who served in WW1. His brother Douglas was crushed by a laden truck of wheat in 1911 age 19 years
