Military History
Minett was hospitalised with German Measles and admitted to the No.8 General Hospital 2.10.1915 - 11.10.1915. He was Appointed Signaller 1.11.1915.
Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘Medic’ A7 for Egypt 18.1.1916.

Minett disembarked at Alexandria 16.2.1916. He was admitted to Heliopolis Hospital with diphtheria 20.2.1916. On recovery, he joined the BEF at Alexandria and embarked for France with 7th Reinf. 28th Bn. 16.3.1916. Minett disembarked at Marseilles 21.3.1916. The 28th Bn. fought its first major battle at Pozieres in June 1916. Minett was reported missing in action at Pozieres, France 29.7.1916. This report was changed to KIA with the date of death recorded as 29.7.1916. Minett was buried on the battlefield at Pozieres 2 days after his death by Rev. W.E. Dexter. (AWM Red Cross File) (Reported West Australian Newspaper 23.10.1916 and 3.11.1916). However , no actual = recorded burial site was recorded and the War Graves Commission was unable to locate the place of his burials. Minett is commemorated at Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France.
