Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘ Suffolk’ A23 for England 13.10.1916.

Roll Unit 7th Infantry Brigade, 28th Infantry Battalion, 16th Reinf.
Miller disembarked to hospital at Cape Town, South Africa with possible typhoid 31.10.1916. On recovery and discharge from hospital, he re embarked per ‘Buton’ to St Helena and then changed ship for England. He embarked at St Helena per ‘Suevic’ 14.1.1917, to join his Unit. Miller disembarked at Devonport, England 30.1.1917 and marched in to the 14th Training Bn. at Hurdcott 6.2.1917. He transferred to the 62nd Bn. 28.4.1917, then proceeded overseas to France 2 1917. Miller transferred to the 25th Bn. 1.9.1917. He fought with his Battalion at Menin Road in September 1917 and participated in the capture of Broodseinde Ridge in October 1917. Miller was wounded in action 15.11.1917 with a GSW to face, right arm and hand. He was transferred to England to Moorpark 24th General Hospital. He convalesced at the 3rd Aux Hospital, Dartford. Miller was listed for early return to Australia, invalided with wounds.
Embarked for Australia per ‘Stad Antwerpen’ for a change 5.4.1918.
Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 22.5.1918.
Discharged 5.11.1918.
Final Rank Private, 28th Bn. AIF.
Medical Condition Invalided with multiple gun shot wounds.
