Military History
Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ’Ascanius’ A11 for Egypt 2.11.1914.

Roll Unit 3rd Infantry Brigade, 11th Battalion, ‘H’ Company, AIF.
Milford disembarked in Egypt with the 11th Bn. Joined MEF at Alexandria and embarked for Gallipoli. He was wounded in action at the Dardanelles 27.4.1915 with a GSW to his hand and leg. Milford was admitted to the 1st Australian Hospital at Gallipoli 29.4.1915, then transferred to the Hospital at Helouan 13.5.1915. He was discharged to his unit at Zietoun 8.6.1915. Milford transferred to the Australian Army Postal Corps 1.2.1916. He was promoted to Staff Sgt. 8.3.1916. Milford joined the BEF and embarked at Alexandria for England per HMT ‘Aragon’ 13.6.1916. He disembarked at Plymouth 23.6.1916. Milford reverted to Rank 17.1.1917 and marched in to Bhurtpore Barracks to No.1 Command Depot, Perham Downs 14.3.1917 (Class 3 Classification). He marched out from Perham Downs to Weymouth Com. Depot 24.3.1917. Marched out for early return to Australia, invalided with a double hernia.
Embarked for Australia per HT ‘Themistocles’ 6.4.1917.
Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 4.5.1917.
Discharged 21.9.1917.
Final Rank Private, Postal Corps ex 11th Bn.
Medical Condition Invalided with double hernia.
