Meyers disembarked at Suez with his Battery 21.12.1915 and joined the MEF. Howeve, ,the evacuation of Gallipoli was occuring at the time of his arrival in Egypt and the Brigade was not required in the Mediteranean. After a period of intensive training, he proceeded to join the BEF in Alexandria and embarked for France per HT ‘Eboe’ 17.3.1916. He disembarked at Marseilles 23.3.1916. Meyers was taken on Strength with 6th Army Brigade, Australian Field Artillery (AFA). The 6th Army AFB fought at Pozieres from July-September 1916, at Bullecourt in April 1917, the Battle of Passchendaele July- November 1917, Battle of Menin Road late September 1917, Broodseinde Ridge October 1917. Meyers would have fought in most of these battles. He took leave to England 9.8.1917- 13.8.1917 an. His AFB fought against the German Spring Offensive in 1918, at Hamel in July 1918 and Amiens in August 1918. Meyers fought in most of these battles and took 3 weeks leave in England at the end of September (24.9.1918 - 19.10.1918). Following Armistice, his Brigade remained in France until February when he marched into his base 17.2.1919 and embarked for England for demobilisation 26.2.1919. Meyers was listed for return to Australia in May 1919
