Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘Malta’ for Egypt 27.10.1918.
Roll Rank Trooper.
Roll Unit 7th General Service Reinforcements (GSR) Egypt.
McGuiness disembarked at Suez 22.11.1918 with his Unit. He marched in to the Central Training Depot at Moascar. With the cessation of hostilities, he was allotted to join the 10th Light Horse 4.1.1919. Trooper McGuiness was sent to the 26th Stationary Hospital in Ismalia sick 21.3.1919. On recovery, he marched out to Moascar to the Light Horse Details Camp 19.4.1919. He was taken on strength as a Trooper with 10th Light Horse at Zagazig and was involved in putting down a revolt- a resistance by the Egyptian population at Zagazig 27.5.1919. McGuiness was listed for return to Australia.

Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 4.8.1919.
Discharged 15.10.1919.
