Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘Suevic’ A 29 for Egypt 31.5.1916.

Roll Unit 44th Battalion. ‘A’ Coy. 11th Brigade
Lovell was admitted to the ship’s isolation hospital with a debility for 11 days from 9.6.1916. He was readmitted to hospital 28.6.1916 and died of disease 2 weeks later from Pleurisy and Pneumonia. Lovell was buried at sea 13.7.1915. When his death was reported in the West Australian, they reported that the cause of death as unknown (West Australian Newspaper 5.8.1916). This was possibly due to communication limitations. His sister, Mrs. Ruth Waldeck, received his medal. He is commemorated at Hollybrook Memorial, Southampton, Hampshire, England.
