Logue was admitted to hospital at sea with a debility.
He disembarked at Devonport and Marched in to 3rd Training Battalion 10.1.1917. Logue then transferred to ‘C' Co. Logue was admitted to hospital at Parkhouse with a debility 1.2.1917. He committed frequent offences and acts of disobedience of orders. He was Court Marshalled. Logue became sick with Influenza and was admitted to hospital 9.5.1917. Logue was admitted to Wandsworth Detention Barracks 6.7.1917, then transferred to the AIF Detention Barracks at Lewes from 2nd Training Battalion. He proceeded overseas to France 17.4.1918 and marched in to Base Details at Etaples 19.4.1918. He joined the 11th Bn. from 22nd Reinf.19.4.1918 and was taken on strength with his unit 3.5.1918. In July the 11th Bn. moved to the front lines on the Somme near Pozieres. On 19.7.1918 they arrived at Albert amidst a gas attack and were subjected to heavy artillery bombardment as they prepared trenches (Wikipedia 11th Bn). Logue was KIA near Albert 19.8.1918. No records were found to give further details of his demise, however, he was buried that same day at nearby Borre Cemetery, France, sited 1 ½ miles East of Hazebrouck, by the Chaplain, Rev. Beveridge (reported West Australian Newspaper 22.8.1918) Details of his grave were later reported as Hazebrouck Communal Cemetery Plot 1, Row E, Grave 4. After Armistice, the graves were located in the Commonwealth enclosures and given plot numbers. This cemetery is known as Borre British Cemetery. Hazebrouck, Nord pas de Calais, France.
