Embarked at Fremantle per ‘Canberra’ for Egypt 24.11.1917.

Lacey disembarked at Suez 21.12.1917. He embarked for Port Said 9.1.1918 and disembarked at Taranto, Italy 20.1.1918. From Taranto, he embarked for the UK, disembarking at Southampton 30.1.1918. He marched in to the Australian Supply Corps Training Department 1.2.1918. Lacey transferred to the 51st Battalion at Codford 5.6.1918. He was recorded as on active service abroad (West Australian Newspaper )26.7.1918. The 51st Battalion took part in attacks at Amiens, then took a rear position until late September, when they were recalled to take part in the attack on the Hindenburg outposts from September 18th 1918. Lacey would have fought at the attack at Hindenburg. Lacey transferred to the Machine Gun Corps at on Corps Details at Parkhouse in England 2.10.1918.
Embarked for Australia per ‘City of Exeter’ 12.7.1919.
Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 17.8.1919 (Reported West Australian Newspaper 4.10.1919).
Discharged 9.9.1919.

Notes Lacey’s wife moved to Wooroloo in 1917 (West Australian Newspaper 29.3.1918).
PO Directories show his address as at the corner of Meadow and Helena St. Guildford(1 Meadow St) later at 26 Government Rd. West Guildford (West Australian Newspapers 3.6.1932). He died 28.4.1950 and his address was then given as 20 Walter Rd. Bassendean. WA (West Australian Newspapers 29.4.1950)
