Embarked Adelaide 22.7.1917 and then from Albany per ‘Port Melbourne’ A16 for England 24.7.1917.

Embarked from Adelaide 22.7.1917 per HMAT ‘Port Melbourne’ from Albany 20.7.1918.
Kirkbride disembarked at Liverpool with the Army Medical Corps 16.9.1917. He marched in to Parkhouse 17.9.1917. Kirkbride proceeded overseas to France 2.11.1917. He marched in to the 6th Field Ambulance in France. Kirkbride was sick for 3 days from 19.2.1918, then rejoined his unit 22.2.1918. He was admitted sick to the 20th Casualty Clearing Station 15.4.1918 with bronchitis and invalided to England per Hospital Ship (HS) A20 18.4.1918. Kirkbride was admitted to Reading War Hospital 21.4.1918 then transferred to Dartford Hospital still suffering with bronchitis 16.5.1918. He marched in to the Convalescent Hospital Weymouth 11.7.1918 and was discharged a month later to the No.2 Command Depot. Kirkbride attended the Education Training School 7.10.1918. He was listed for return to Australia, as nursing staff on board ship.
Embarked for Australia per ‘Lancashire’ 7.2.1919 as Nursing Staff.
Returned/Disembarked 21.3.1919.
Discharged 17.4.1919.
Final Rank Private, 6th Australian Field Ambulance.
Medical Condition NK.
Awards and Medals British War Medal, Victory Medal.
Notes Stanley’s brother Sidney (SN 1303) served in WW1 and was KIA. On his return to Australia from the front, Stanley had many troubled years with records of petty offences. Kirkbride served in the Second World War.
