Embarked Albany per SS ‘Port Darwin’ for UK 8.5.1918.

Hester disembarked at Suez 7.6.1918. He was taken on Strength at the Australian Camp 7.6.1918. After a brief period of training, he entrained to Alexandria and joined the BEF for embarkation overseas 3.7.1918. Hester embarked at Alexandria  per SS ‘Port Darwin’ for the UK. He disembarked at Southampton 16.7.1918. Hester and his Bn. marched in to 5th Training Bn. at Fovant 17.7.1918. Hester was taken on strength with 28th Bn. from 1st General Service Reinf. He proceeded overseas via Dover to France 4.10.1918 and marched in to the Australian Infantry Bde. Depot 6.10.1918. The 28th Bn. participated in the breakthrough of the Beaurevoir Line in early October 1918.  Hester marched in to Sutton Veny ex France 27.5.1919 for return to Australia.
Embarked for Australia per HT ‘Barambah’ 3.9.1919.
Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 17.10.1919.
Discharged 10.11.1919.
Final Rank Private, 28th Bn. AIF.
Medical Condition NK.
