Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘Ormonde’ for Egypt 13.5.1918.

Roll Unit 32nd Reinforcement 10th Light Horse Regt, 3rd Bde.
Edwards disembarked in Egypt. He marched in to Reinf. Camp at Moascar 4.6.1918, then marched in to 10th Light Horse Regiment 10.12.1916. The 10th Light Horse were part of the Desert Column that advanced into Palestine. They fought at Gaza- Beersheba and the Es Salt Raid in May 1918. Edwards was taken on Strength with Egyptian Expeditionary Forces (EEF) 20.6.1918.
He was admitted to Hospital with malaria 9.8.1918, invalided by HS from Kantara and transferred to the 3rd General Hospital at Abbassia 14.8.1918. He was discharged to duty 5.9.1918. Edwards was admitted sick to hospital with malaria 6.2.1919. He was discharged to Moascar 7.3.1919. He became sick again and was invalided to Hospital at Lagazig 11.5.1919. He returned to his unit and was taken on Strength 15.5.1919. He was listed for return to Australia in August 1919.
