Dixon disembarked at Plymouth with his Bn. 20.11.1917. He marched in to 7th Training Bn. at Rollestone, UK 7.12.1916. Dixon was appointed T/Driver 18.5.1916. He proceeded overseas to France 22.5.1918 and was taken on strength with the 28th Bn. 12.6.1917. He fought at the battle of Ypres, at Flanders. Dixon was invalided to England following a syncopal attack (losing consciousness) 1.11.1917. He was transferred to HS' Peter de Conick' with synovitis 8.11.1917 and was admitted to Hammersmith Hospital 9.11.1917. Dixon was invalided to Australia for a ‘change’.
Embarked per HT ‘Balmoral Castle’ for return to Australia 1.2.1918 with debility disordered action of the heart (DAH).
Returned/Disembarked 21.2.1918.
Discharged 9.4.1918.
