Embarked Fremantle per ‘Berrima’ for England 23.12.1916.
Roll Rank Sapper.
Roll Unit 1st Pioneers.
Crew disembarked at Devonport with the 1st Pioneers 16.2.1917. He marched in to Pioneer Training Battalion at Larkhill 18.2.1917. Crew was promoted to Lance Corporal at the No. 4 Camp at Fovant 11.5.1917. He reverted to rank and marched out with Field Engineers 11.6.1917. Crew transferred to the Engineers Training Depot 11.6.1917 and proceeded overseas to France 25.8.1917. He was admitted to Boulogne Hospital sick with Trench Fever and transferred back to England. Crew was admitted to Liverpool Hospital 3.11.1917, transferred to Dartford Hospital with Scabies then to HQ at Hurdcott (Reported West Australian Newspaper 8.1.1918) He was sent to a Course of Instruction at Woolwich 1.7.1918 and promoted to Temporary Sergeant Transport 6.2.1919 for the return trip to Australia.
Embarked England for Australia per ‘Lancashire’ 15.2.1919.
Returned/Disembarked 21.3.1919.
Discharged 24.4.1919.
Final Rank Sapper 12th Field Company Australian Field Engineers.
