Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘Borda’ A 30 for England 29.6.1917.
Roll Rank Private.
Roll Unit 26th Reinforcement. 11th Battalion. Australian Imperial Force.
Cox disembarked at Plymouth with the 26th Reinforcement. 11th Battalion 25.8.1917. He marched in to 3rd Training Battalion Base at Durrington 25.8.1917. He was AWOL 2 days and awarded a fine. Cox was admitted to Sutton Veny Hospital with angina.
He proceeded overseas to France with  the Training Battalion from Longbridge, Deverill, 8.5.1918. Cox was transferred to 11th Battalion 13.5.1918. The 11th Battalion fought in the 100 days Offensive near and around Amiens. Cox was wounded in action and then reported Missing 10.8.1918. The Court of Inquiry at Chalelet 20.2.1919 determined that he was KIA 10.8.1918. It was stated he was shot near Messines( AWM Red Cross File) and buried nearby. He is commemorate at Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux Area , Picardie, France.

Medical Condition Deceased, KIA.
