Embarked Fremantle per HMS ‘Karmala’ for Egypt 11.2.1917.
Roll Rank Trooper.
Roll Unit 25th Reinforcement 10th Light Horse.
Connaughton disembarked at Suez on 11.3.1917. He marched into the Details Camp at Moascar 12.3.1917. He was taken on strength with the 10th Light Horse in Egypt 26.3.1917. Connaughton became sick and was hospitalised with influenza at 3rd Light Horse Field Ambulance Hospital 19.8.1917. He returned to duty at Abbassia on 30.8.1917. He was reported AWOL 2.7.1918. Connaughton was hospitalized with a debility 24.7.1918- 28.8.1918. He rejoined his unit and marched in to Moascar. He was hospitalised with shingles 14.9.1918 and again in 14.12.1918. He served in Syria and Palestine.
