Military History
Embarked Fremantle per ‘Mashobra’ A47 for Egypt 18.2.1915.
Roll Rank Trooper.
Roll Unit 10th Light Horse.
Coe disembarked at Suez with his Light Horse Unit. He was hospitalised with the Influenza 8.4.1915. Coe entrained to Alexandria, joined the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force and embarked for Gallipoli 1.8.1915. He was admitted to the Field Ambulance Station with diarrhoea 29.8.1915. After a month he was crippled with rheumatism and was transferred by Hospital Ship ‘Marathon’ to Mudros 26.8.1915. Coe was discharged and returned to Heliopolis in Egypt 7.9.1915. He was allocated to light duties at Helouan 16.11.1915. Coe marched out as groom for 10th Light Horse Regiment 1.8.1916. Embarked for return to Australia with escort duties for the wounded on the return voyage.
Embarked Suez for Australia per HT ‘Ayreshire’ on escort duty to Melbourne 21.11.1916.
Returned/Disembarked Melbourne 25.12.1916 - to Fremantle 30.12.1916.
Discharged 19.1.1917.
Final Rank Trooper 10th Light Horse.
Medical Condition Invalided.
Awards and Medals 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal.
