Embarked Fremantle per HMAT ‘ Borda’ A30 for England 29.6.1917.

Roll Unit Army Medical Corps, General Reinforcement.
Clarke disembarked at Plymouth with Army Medical Corps General Reinforcement 25.8.1917. He marched in to Parkhouse to the Australian Medical Corps Training Division 26.8.1917. After a period of intensive training he proceeded overseas to France via Folkstone 1.10.1917 and marched in to reinforce the 1st Division Field Ambulance. Clarke was admitted sick to the 26th General Hospital at Etaples 1.11.1917. He rejoined his unit 3.12.1917. Clarke was diagnosed with influenza 27.10.1918, admitted to a Military Hospital Section and sent the next day to the Rest Station. He was discharged as fit for duty 5 days later and rejoined his unit 31.12.1918. Following demobilisation, he marched out to England and was listed for return to Australia.
Embarked per HT ‘Takada’ for Australia, as nursing staff 18.7.1919.
Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 29.8.1919.
Discharged 28.9.1919.
Final Rank Private 1st Field Ambulance.
Medical Condition NK.
