Military History
Transferred to Maribyrnong, Victoria for artillery training 3.6.1916. Allotted position of Gunner 3.8.1916.
Embarked Melbourne per HMAT 'Aeneas’ A60 for England 3.10.1916.

Badock disembarked with Battalion at Plymouth, England. They marched in to the 3rd Division Artillery Details at Larkhill. They proceeded overseas to France per ‘Princess Henrietta’ via Folkestone 2.1.1917. The Battalion marched in to the 3rd Division Artillery Depot 3.1.1917, then marched out to the Australian General Base Depot at Etaples 12.1.1917 and then to Details HQ. Badock was attached for duty in the Field with 3rd Division Artillery Column 16.1.1917 and then transferred to the Division of Ammunition Columns 10.3.1917. He continued to fight in trenches of France with bouts of bronchitis and hospital admissions with bronchitis 8.7.1918, influenza 16.10.1918, Bronchitis 28.10.1918. He was transferred to England by Hospital Ship 29.10.1918 and admitted to Graylingwell War Hospital with bronchitis 30.10.1918.
Badock was discharged from hospital 7.11.1918 and marched in to London HQ for early return to Australia as an invalid with bronchitis.
Embarked for Australia per SS ‘Morvada’ 4.1.1919.
Returned/Disembarked Fremantle 12.2.1919.
Discharged 6.4.1919.
Final Rank Gunner, 6th Battery, Field Artillery Brigade.
Medical Condition Invalided, with bronchitis.

Notes HIs sister Daisy Badock nursed overseas in Egypt (Daily News 2.12.1919) Badock became engaged to Enid Farrington (West Australian Newspaper 25.9.1919)
His father joined Army Medical Corps in WW1 and served as Captain and doctor. Badock returned to WA and moved to Kalgoorlie where he became a member of the committee of the Kalgoorlie Chamber of Commerce (Mirror 3.12.1949 p30)
